Crary family at the unveiling ceremony for the portrait of Evans Crary Sr. Crary was a Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives. The portrait was painted by Pompano artist Hugh Walter and was one of 14 unveiled at that time. Crary served as a Stuart city judge 1930 to 1936, was elected to the Florida House in 1936, became Speaker in 1945, and served in the Florida Senate 1946 to 1954. He also established a successful law office, Crary, Crary, and Crary, with his sons. Left to right: Evans Crary Jr. (1930-2024), Talley McKewin Crary (1905-2002), Evans Crary Jr.'s son Larry, Evans Crary Sr. (1905-1968), and Evans Crary Jr.'s wife Marilyn Overby Crary (1931-1995).

Kanner (1893-1967), Anna Kanner Samuel (b. 1909), Dr. Harry Kanner (1895-1983), Ruth Kanner (b. 1899), and Israel Herman Kanner (1901-1953). A.O. Kanner came to Martin County in 1925. He was state attorney of 21st Judicial Circuit; attorney for the City of Stuart, for Martin County; he served in the Florida Legislature for five terms and state senate for two terms. He then served as a judge until his retirement in 1964.
