The Tropic Hotel and Marine Room, 1948
Front of building advertises package goods, cocktail lounge, and hotel. Originally the Peacock Arcade, it became the Victory Hotel in 1942 (the Marine Room and Beach Club opened in 1944), later renamed the Toric Hotel in 1950, and the Tropic Hotel in 1951. It became the Commodore Hotel in 1956 and burnt down in 1959. -

Ted's Bar, c. 1950
View of a few buildings along a roadside with a sign for "Ted's Bar-Beer, Wine, Sandwiches" on display. An "Open" sign is also displayed and reads "Hamburg, Hotdogs, Coffee." A Studebaker truck is parked in front of the establishment. Ted's Bar was located on U.S. Hwy 1, two and a half miles north of Stuart during the late 1940s and 1950s until it was purchased by Theodore Corrody and renamed "Dewey's Inn" in 1953. -
Dirr's Bar, c. 1938
Brothers Dave (d. 1939) and Charlie Dirr behind the bar in the Osceola Building. Dirr's Recreation Hall became Dirr's Bar and Cocktail Room by 1936, and became the Horseshoe Bar in 1943. -
Poor Bobs Lounge and Deli, c. 1955
Interior view of Poor Bobs Cocktail Lounge and Delicatessen at the Jensen Beach Causeway. Four people in white collared shirts stand behind the bar and many green cushioned barstools are lined up in front of the bar. Robert W. Weisenberger built and opened Poor Bobs in 1952 replacing the bait and tackle shop that was previously located at the site. Poor Bobs closed in 1983 and was torn down in 1985 when the site was made into a parking lot for a bait and tackle shop once again. The back caption reads "Imported Draught Beer, Wine and Liquors. Featuring Kosher and German Style Sandwiches, Home Made Soups, Pizza Pies and Italian Sausages. Imported Swiss, Italian, Greek, and German Cheese."
