Description

Several workers load a railroad car with large squash or watermelon. Earl Dyer Ricou photograph published in the Stuart News (26 May 1955) under headline reading "County's Watermelon Production Total Passes Half Million." Caption included with photo reads "New Melon Variety Finds Favor. These are Charleston Greys being loaded into freight car at Indiantown. The variety, early ripening, fine flavored, an excellent shipper, is new to Martin County and met excellent grower response."
