Aerial view of Hutchinson Island with Baker Point, Stuart Beach, and several resorts and condominiums in view. Back caption reads "The Marriott Resort spread out along Stuart Beach."
Postcard created from a Ruhnke photo of the Rice Hotel and Restaurant. The Restaurant advertised that "It's Never Too Late For Breakfast." The building, previously the Rob Roy Hotel owned by the Roebuck family, was purchased by William H. Rice in 1945. Rice remodeled then operated the establishment, including a market on the first floor of the building (opened in 1949) and a nearby service station until 1956 when he sold it to Don A. O'Kelley and James L. Scannell who changed the name to "The Coffee House." The caption on the backside of the postcard is not legible. Poor condition.
Handwritten on back: "Center of town from R.R. crossing. Two houses in center are the Ela and Brown places both of which I designed. To the extreme right Mr. Woods house. A little to the left and back of Mrs Ela House is BW place (white trim around windows) to the left is the Salerno Inn where we stayed when we first came down. Buss is standing at the corner. Can you notice from the pictures I send from time to time [?] grow?"
