    C. Gale Kiplinger sits at a desk in a wood paneled office. Gale Kiplinger worked as an engineering consultant for Allied Chemical Corporation. After retiring from the chemical industry in 1958, Gale Kiplinger worked with his brother, Willard Kiplinger, on projects to expand the Kiplinger Washington Editors publishing company. Gale stayed on at the publishing firm, consulting on financial investments, which included the purchasing of land in Martin County. Gale made Stuart his permanent home in 1970 after spending many winters in the area and was involved in many local civic organizations such as the Men's Garden Club of Martin County and the Stuart Rotary Club.
