"View North of West Palm Beach in this Inlet District." Beach, palms, and a trail. Presented by the Stuart Commercial Club to the United States Government Engineers at a public hearing (16 Jan 1923) in Stuart, Florida as part of a report requesting aid for a deep water harbor.
A woman stands in a citrus grove with her hat in her hand. Underneath the woman's feet there is a narrow walking path that runs between the rows of fruit trees, possibly at Ruxton Plantation in Eden. According to the manuscript on Ruxton Plantation written by Arnold Dumond "Duke" Merwin, a boardwalk was built between the adjacent Merwin and Ruxton plantations. (see Sandra Thurlow's Historic Jensen and Eden) The Merwin family often ate their meals at Ruxton Plantation, and they wanted to connect the two properties to make their frequent trips easier to traverse. Poor copy.
