Photo published in the April 4th, 1963 edition of The Stuart News. The Martin County Sheriff's Department radio tower fell, nearly hitting several young scouts in the street, after their camping trailer hit one of the guy wires holding the tower in place. Deputy Sheriff, Ray Heisley, witnessed the event and shouted a warning to the boys to clear out of the way of the tower as it fell. The aforementioned Sea Explorers (Ship 405) camping trailer and scouts, Martin County Courthouse, and Stuart water tower are also in view. Poor copy. -

According to the April 4th, 1963 edition of The Stuart News, the Martin County Sheriff's Department radio tower fell, nearly hitting several young scouts in the street, after their camping trailer hit one of the guy wires holding the tower in place. Deputy Sheriff, Ray Heisley, witnessed the event and shouted a warning to the boys to clear out of the way of the tower as it fell. One side of the Martin County Courthouse is also in view. Boy Scouts rescuing car, 1916

An article in the Stuart News (29 Sep 1916) details that the Boy Scouts of Stuart assisted the Babcock Garage service car in getting a car out of the ditch in Hobe Sound. -
